NSS teaches students to appreciate other people's perspectives and to demonstrate empathy for "other living creatures." The NSS ideology is well represented in this motto, which emphasises the idea that an individual's well-being is ultimately dependent on the well-being of society, and therefore NSS volunteers should work for the society's well-being.
