The word NSS captures the essence of democratic life and emphasises the importance of selfless service. NSS teaches students to appreciate other people’s perspectives and to demonstrate empathy for “other living creatures.” The NSS ideology is well represented in this motto, which emphasises the idea that an individual’s well-being is ultimately dependent on the well-being of society, and therefore NSS volunteers should work for the society’s well-being.
Objective of NSS
– To give students a better understanding of the world in which they live and work.
– To recognise societal needs and issues and to propose solutions in which they can participate.

Report: The event has been initiated mainly for the youngsters in the village how to convert the waste material as manure and to make the environment clear and clean. The Thanakulam area people are been educated about to maintain concept of recycling the waste.

Report: In the Periyapalayam area more than 10 students participated in the process of initiating the people to gain knowledge on education using many modern techniques. The children as well as the people have been motivated and intimated them to use some gadgets for their knowledge development.

Report: The event has been conducted by the institution in remembrance of the Founder’s day to provide food and certificates for blood donors that will be helpful for patients who are in need of blood. The students are being donated the blood with full heartedly as service to the people those who have been affected by some medical issues.

Report:
The students of JNNIE today have planted more than 50 saplings at Manjankaranai village as a Green Earth Mission initiation forum. Some of the villagers also actively participated in the planting activity and understood the importance of trees for environmental protection and maintaining of ecosystem.

Report: The students of JNNIE today demonstrated some basic apps available for farmers exclusively. Around 23 students of various departments participated in the events. Apps such as AgriApp, Liffco Kisan App, FarmBee and Kisan Yojana were discussed with farmers of rural folk in detail.

Report: One day program named “Awareness on Waste Management” was conducted on 10th August 2016 and motivated the rural students at Sholavaram about the Wastage Recycling methods. The students participated with great interest and are benefited by attending this program.

Report: The distribution of food and water was supplied by our NSS volunteers and with some faculties of JNNIE to the affected people of Vinayagapuram and also Korrukupet area on the same day to provide them moral support to overcome from the situation.
